What we do
-
Search & Brand Protection
Non-brand Search wired to product and collection landing pages, not the homepage. Brand campaigns to stop competitors poaching your trademarked traffic. The campaigns most Shopify-focused agencies skip because Shopping is easier to sell.
-
Shopping & Performance Max
Merchant Centre feed audited and corrected (missing GTINs, broken images, disapprovals, taxonomy gaps). PMax run with deliberate audience signals and asset groups, not as a one-click black box you can't see inside.
-
Display & Remarketing
Audience-led Display that introduces your products to in-market buyers. Remarketing segmented by cart abandonment, product view, and category interest, not the same banner served to everyone for six weeks.
-
YouTube & Video
Placement-led video campaigns built around product demos, founder stories and use-case content. Optimised to view-through conversions and assisted revenue, not vanity reach.
-
GA4 + Enhanced Conversions
Shopify-to-GA4 wired up cleanly. Enhanced Conversions for hashed customer data passed back to Google. Server-side tracking via GTM where it earns its keep. Numbers you can actually act on, not the half-broken default Shopify integration.
-
Landing Page CRO for Ads
Most Shopify accounts leak in the product page, not the ad. We test PDP variants, collection layouts, and dedicated landing pages for paid traffic. The page and the ad are one system, not two separate jobs.
How a Shopify Google Ads engagement actually runs
Most agencies pitching Shopify Google Ads sell you a Shopping feed and a Performance Max campaign and call it a strategy. Here's what proper full-funnel paid looks like on a Shopify store.
-
Free Shopify Google Ads audit (week 0)
30+ point review: account structure, Merchant Centre feed health, conversion tracking, Shopify-to-GA4 integration, PDP and collection page performance, current campaign type mix. We tell you what's wrong, what's working, and whether your traffic and AOV actually support paid scale.
-
Foundations (weeks 1 to 4)
Merchant Centre feed corrected (GTINs, taxonomy, disapprovals). Conversion stack rebuilt: GA4, Enhanced Conversions, server-side GTM where it earns its keep. Brand Search campaign live. Account structure tightened. Most accounts find enough waste in month one to fund the first quarter.
-
Full-funnel rollout (month 2 onwards)
Non-brand Search to product and collection pages. Shopping and PMax with deliberate audience signals. Remarketing segmented by behaviour. YouTube and Display layered in when AOV and margin support it. No campaign type added without a hypothesis we can measure.
-
Review, refine, scale (quarterly)
Monthly reports tied to attributed Shopify revenue. Quarterly strategic review on creative, audiences, the offer itself, and whether the campaign mix is still right for the season. A real human, not a templated PDF.
Why Shopify Google Ads is more than Shopping and PMax
Most agencies pitching Google Ads to Shopify stores sell the same pitch: "we'll set up your Merchant Centre feed and run a Performance Max campaign". Sometimes that's the right answer. Most of the time it's the easy answer, and the easy answer leaves money on the table.
Performance Max is a powerful campaign type. It also concentrates spend into a single algorithm-driven black box where you can't see which placements, audiences or creatives are doing the work. For an established Shopify store with brand awareness, real seasonal patterns, and competitors actively bidding on the brand term, PMax alone is rarely the optimal mix. You want PMax in the toolbox. You also want a properly structured non-brand Search campaign feeding intent-driven traffic to product and collection pages, a Brand Search campaign protecting your trademarked queries from competitor poaching, Remarketing audiences segmented by behaviour (not one blanket retargeting list), and Display and YouTube layered in when AOV and margin make them work.
The other underrated piece is the conversion tracking. Shopify's default GA4 integration is partial and Enhanced Conversions are rarely set up properly. Most Shopify accounts we audit are optimising against incomplete data, the algorithm is doing its best with a signal that's missing 20 to 40% of purchases or double-counting attribution between sessions. We rebuild the stack: GA4, Enhanced Conversions with hashed customer data, server-side GTM where it earns its keep, offline import for any phone or returning-customer revenue. Once the data is honest, the campaigns optimise to the right thing.
And then there's the landing page. Cheap clicks to a generic product page that hasn't been touched in 18 months don't convert no matter how clever the bidding. We treat the PDP, the collection page, and the ad creative as one system. Our CRO work is included in this retainer, the page and the ad are not two separate jobs.

Frequently asked questions
Is Google Ads for Shopify different from regular Google Ads?
The fundamentals are the same: account structure, match types, conversion tracking, creative discipline. The platform-specific work is what's different. On Shopify that means Merchant Centre feed health, Shopify-to-GA4 integration (which Shopify's default setup gets only partially right), Enhanced Conversions with hashed customer data, PDP and collection-page CRO, and the campaign mix decisions that depend on Shopify-specific signals like AOV, repeat-purchase patterns and product margin. A generalist agency that doesn't know Shopify spends month one learning it on your dime. We don't.
Isn't Shopify Google Ads just Shopping and Performance Max?
No, and that's the pitch most agencies make because Shopping plus PMax is the easy answer. The full mix for a serious Shopify store includes non-brand Search to product and collection landing pages, a Brand Search campaign to stop competitors poaching your trademarked traffic, segmented Remarketing audiences by behaviour (not one blanket list), Display where it earns in-market reach, and YouTube when AOV and margin support video production. PMax has a place in the mix. It's not the whole mix.
How much does Shopify Google Ads management cost?
Our fee is the same as our general Google Ads retainer because the work is the same shape: media plus management, scaling with spend. No setup fee, no contract lock-in, 30-day notice.
Do you set up Merchant Centre and the product feed?
Yes. Most Shopify accounts we audit have a feed with disapprovals, missing GTINs, broken or oversized images, or taxonomy gaps that cap delivery. We audit the feed against Google's specification, fix the structural issues directly in Shopify (or via the relevant feed app where required), and resolve any policy disapprovals before any Shopping or PMax spend goes live. This is part of the retainer, not a setup fee.
Do you fix Shopify's GA4 conversion tracking?
Yes, and it's one of the first things we touch. Shopify's default GA4 integration covers purchase events but Enhanced Conversions for Google Ads are rarely configured properly, and the integration loses customer-journey signal because of the default cookie scope. We rebuild the conversion stack with Enhanced Conversions (hashed email/phone passed back to Google), server-side GTM where it earns its keep, and offline import for any phone or returning-customer revenue. The algorithm can only optimise to data it can trust.
Does this include landing page CRO?
Yes. Our CRO work is bundled into this retainer. PDPs, collection pages, and dedicated paid-traffic landing pages are tested and iterated as part of the engagement. Most Shopify accounts leak in the product page, not the ad, and we treat the page and the ad as one system.
Do you also run Meta Ads for Shopify stores?
Yes, separately. Our Facebook Ads service uses the same fee structure and the same all-inclusive scope. Most Shopify scale plays end up running Google plus Meta together: Google captures demand, Meta creates it. We can manage either or both, and the two campaigns talk to each other in the planning.
Do you build the creative for the ads?
No, creative production is not included. Most Shopify clients already work with a designer, a content agency, or in-house team for product photography, lifestyle imagery, and video. We brief that creative work and feed the assets into the campaigns. If you don't have a creative partner, we can recommend specialists we trust, and the audit will flag whether your current creative is a bottleneck on performance.
How long until I see results from Shopify Google Ads?
Initial waste cuts (negative keywords, broken match types, feed disapprovals) typically lift performance within 14 to 30 days. Compounding gains land over 90 days as Quality Scores improve, the algorithm accumulates clean conversion signal, and the full campaign mix beds in. Your free audit will give you a realistic read on your specific account, your seasonality, and your AOV.
Do you work with Shopify Plus stores too?
Yes. The engagement scales to Shopify Plus, same fundamentals plus the multi-store, B2B, and checkout extension considerations specific to Plus. Pricing structure stays the same; the ad-spend percentage simply scales with the campaign size. Talk to us about the specifics in the audit.
Are there long-term contracts?
No. 30-day notice and we go separate ways. The Google Ads account stays yours, all campaign data, audiences, conversion history, plus the Merchant Centre work, GA4 configuration, and any landing pages we built. We don't believe in retention through contracts. If the work isn't worth the fee, you should leave.
