Website Maintenance Packages for UK WordPress Sites
Three website maintenance packages covering updates, daily backups, security monitoring and performance, each scoped to what your site actually needs. UK-based team, no long-term contracts, 30-day notice.
What we do
-
Updates handled, tested, rolled back
Core, plugins, and themes updated weekly on a staging mirror, smoke-tested for visual regressions, then rolled to production. We catch the breaking changes, you never see them.
-
Daily off-site backups
Encrypted backups taken nightly to two separate servers, 30-day retention, one-click restore. Quarterly tested restore so we know it actually works.
-
Security & malware monitoring
24/7 vulnerability scanning, firewall enforcement, hardened login, and malware removal included. We patch known CVEs as they land, not when you notice.
-
Uptime monitoring & emergency response
Site checked every 60 seconds; we're notified before you are. UK office-hours response SLA on all tiers, faster on the upper tiers when you can't afford a 2-hour outage.
-
Performance & speed optimisation
Caching tuned, images compressed, CDN optimised, monthly Lighthouse + Core Web Vitals audit. Slow sites lose conversions; we don't let yours drift.
-
Content updates & ad-hoc dev
Included support time per tier for content edits, image swaps, and small dev tasks. No emails into a void, we tell you what we did and when.
What working with us actually looks like
No mystery. No retainer that pays for nothing. Here's the rhythm.
-
Free site audit
We run a full health check, outdated plugins, security flags, performance issues, broken backup config. You get the full report whether you sign or not. Most audits surface 5-10 issues people didn't know existed.
-
Onboarding
Backup config tightened, monitoring deployed, staging environment provisioned, all credentials rotated and stored securely. We document everything so you keep ownership if we ever part ways.
-
Weekly maintenance rhythm
Updates run on staging Mondays; visual regression tested; rolled to production Tuesdays. Backups verified nightly. Monthly performance + security report lands on the 1st.
-
When something breaks
Uptime monitor pages us before you notice. UK working hours response on all tiers; 1-hour SLA on Care Pro. We restore from backup if needed, never start from scratch.
What our website maintenance packages include
What each website maintenance package covers
We run three website maintenance packages. They differ by how often we update, how much of that work a human actually watches, and how fast we respond when something breaks. Every package is scoped to the site, so treat the tier as a starting point rather than a fixed shopping list.

How much do website maintenance packages cost in the UK?
Publicly advertised UK website maintenance packages fall into three bands. Entry plans run at roughly £20 to £50 a month and cover updates, backups and monitoring on a small brochure site. Business plans sit between £50 and £150 a month and add staging, performance work and a small allowance of content time. Fully managed plans start around £200 a month and are aimed at ecommerce and mission-critical sites that need priority response and developer hours. Anything far below the entry band usually means automated updates with nobody checking the result afterwards.
We do not publish a rate card, because the honest answer depends on the site. Plugin count, WooCommerce, custom code, traffic and what an hour of downtime genuinely costs you move the number more than the tier name does, so we quote per client after a free site audit. Our guide to website maintenance cost in the UK breaks the bands down in full, including hourly rates for ad hoc work.
Which platforms the packages cover
These packages are built around WordPress and WooCommerce, which is what we specialise in and where the update risk is highest. If your site runs on something else, tell us what it is on the audit form and we will say honestly whether we are the right people to look after it.
Why a maintenance package is not optional
Most "site went down" calls we take are 100% preventable. A plugin pushed an update with a breaking change. A vulnerability sat unpatched for three weeks. A theme update wiped a custom field. None of these are exotic problems, they are the predictable cost of running WordPress without anyone watching it. A maintenance package is not insurance you hope you never use. It is the routine work that means you do not need insurance in the first place.
Five things regular maintenance gives you:
- Security. WordPress core gets a security release roughly every 60 days and popular plugins get advisories weekly. Unpatched WordPress sites are the most common single attack vector for SMB websites, and the average breach costs more than five years of a care plan.
- Speed. Site performance drifts. Database tables bloat, plugins add scripts, caching configurations rot. We monitor Core Web Vitals monthly and tune as performance regresses, so your site does not quietly get slower while your conversion rate quietly drops.
- SEO. Google factors page experience and Core Web Vitals into ranking. Broken links, server errors and slow loads cost you organic traffic. Maintenance is half the technical SEO work you would otherwise pay for separately.
- Backups that actually restore. Plenty of agencies offer backups. Few test the restore. We run quarterly restore drills, so when you need it the backup works and the restore takes minutes rather than days.
- Brand credibility. A site that is down, slow or showing security warnings tells customers you do not pay attention. Maintenance is invisible when it works, and that is exactly the point.

Frequently asked questions
How much do website maintenance packages cost in the UK?
Publicly advertised UK packages run at roughly £20 to £50 a month at the entry end, £50 to £150 a month for a business site that needs staging and performance work, and £200 a month upwards for fully managed ecommerce. We do not publish a rate card. We scope each package to the site and quote per client after a free audit, because plugin count, WooCommerce, custom code and the real cost of downtime move the number far more than the tier name does.
What is actually included in your website maintenance packages?
Every package includes daily backups, security scanning, uptime monitoring, core, plugin and theme updates, and a monthly report. Care Plus adds WooCommerce updates, a staging environment and 30 minutes of content edits. Care Pro adds 1-hour priority response, hourly backups and 2 hours of dev support. The full list for each tier is above.
Do you offer monthly website maintenance packages?
Yes. Every package is billed monthly on 30-day notice, with no minimum term and no annual lock-in, and you can move up or down a tier at any point. If you would rather not commit to a monthly package at all, we also do one-off audits and emergency fixes without a retainer.
Which website maintenance package should I choose?
Start from what downtime costs you. If a day offline is an inconvenience, Care is enough. If the site takes orders or bookings, Care Plus gives you staging and WooCommerce monitoring so an update cannot break checkout unseen. If an hour offline costs real money, Care Pro adds hourly backups and 1-hour priority response. The free audit will tell you which one the site needs, and we will say so when that is the cheapest one.
What is not included in the packages?
Hosting, domain renewals and premium plugin licences are billed by their providers and are not part of the package, although we monitor them and flag renewals. New page builds, redesigns and custom development beyond the included support time are quoted separately. We state the included hours and the exclusions up front so you can compare quotes like for like.
Can I just maintain my WordPress site myself?
Yes, and if you have the time and the discipline, you should. Most clients try this for 6-18 months before something breaks at a bad moment. We are cheaper than the cost of one unrecoverable outage. If you want to keep doing it yourself, we offer one-off audits and emergency support without a retainer.
Do you support WooCommerce stores?
Yes. WooCommerce updates are included on Care Plus and Care Pro, and those tiers also monitor checkout flow availability, payment gateway connectivity and order email deliverability. WooCommerce stores are riskier to update without a staging mirror, which is why we do not offer them on the entry tier.
How quickly do you respond when something breaks?
Our uptime monitor pings us within 60 seconds of an outage, so we are often working on a fix before you notice. UK working-hours response on Care and Care Plus, 1-hour priority response (24/7) on Care Pro. We have never had a full-site outage take more than 90 minutes to resolve.
Are there long-term contracts? Can I cancel?
No long-term contracts. 30-day notice and we hand back full ownership, backups, credentials, monitoring history, the lot. We do not believe in retention through lock-in; if the work is not worth what you are paying, you should leave.
