PPC Agency UK: Cross-Platform Paid Search Across Google and Microsoft Ads
We're a UK PPC agency running paid acquisition across Google Ads and Microsoft Ads (Bing). Same fee on both platforms. Microsoft Ads gives you LinkedIn Profile Targeting, lower CPCs, and an older B2B audience that most UK PPC agencies ignore. Free audit before you commit.

What we do
-
Google Ads
Search, Shopping, Performance Max, Display, YouTube and Customer Match. The majority channel for most UK accounts. We've got a dedicated Google Ads service page covering the depth on this side.
-
Microsoft Ads (Bing, Yahoo, AOL)
7% of UK desktop search and a notably older, B2B-skewed audience. Lower CPCs than Google in most verticals. Same Search and Shopping campaign types, plus the Microsoft Audience Network across MSN, Outlook and partner sites. Treated as a real channel, not an afterthought.
-
LinkedIn Profile Targeting
Unique to Microsoft Ads. Target your Search and Audience Network campaigns by LinkedIn profile data: job title, company name, company size, industry, seniority. The only paid-search platform with this level of B2B precision. Significant lever for high-deal-value B2B service businesses.
-
Cross-Channel Conversion Tracking
Google's GA4 + Enhanced Conversions and Microsoft's UET (Universal Event Tracking) wired in parallel so you can compare like-for-like CPA across platforms. CRM offline-import on both sides for revenue-grade optimisation.
-
Cross-Channel Audience Strategy
Customer Match on Google, Customer Lists on Microsoft, Remarketing on both, segmented by behaviour. Lookalike modelling on each platform's first-party data. The audience strategy compounds when both channels share the same source-of-truth segments.
-
Landing Page CRO for Paid Traffic
Same landing pages serve both channels but the traffic profile differs (older / more B2B / more research-mode on Microsoft). We test PDP and form variants to suit both audiences. CRO bundled into the retainer.
How a cross-platform PPC engagement actually runs
Most UK PPC agencies pitch "Google Ads management" and quietly skip Microsoft Ads because they don't have a certified team on that side. We run both. Here's the rhythm.
-
Free PPC audit across all platforms (week 0)
30+ point review of any existing accounts on Google Ads and Microsoft Ads. Conversion tracking integrity, Quality Score, account structure, landing page conversion rate, and channel allocation decisions if you're running both. We tell you what's wrong, what's working, and whether Microsoft Ads is actually worth adding for your specific audience or whether you should stay Google-only.
-
Foundations (weeks 1 to 4)
Conversion stacks rebuilt on both platforms: GA4 + Enhanced Conversions on the Google side, UET + offline import on the Microsoft side. Account structures tightened. Brand Search live where appropriate. Microsoft Ads imported from Google as a starting structure (then optimised; the import is a foundation, not a finished campaign). Most accounts find enough waste in month one to fund the first quarter.
-
Channel allocation and full-funnel rollout (month 2 onwards)
Non-brand Search live on Google. Microsoft Ads ramped in parallel where audience fit supports it. LinkedIn Profile Targeting layered on Microsoft for B2B accounts. Shopping and PMax on Google for ecommerce. Remarketing on both. Channel budget allocated dynamically based on actual blended CPA, not loyalty to either platform.
-
Review, refine, scale (quarterly)
Monthly reports combine both channels into a blended CPA / ROAS / pipeline view. Quarterly strategic review on creative, audiences, and channel mix. If Microsoft isn't earning its keep on your account, we tell you and reallocate. The honest answer matters more than maintaining a multi-channel narrative.
Why most UK PPC accounts run on one platform when they should run on two
Most UK businesses that buy PPC are buying Google Ads only. The agency pitched Google Ads, the audit covered Google Ads, the monthly report shows Google Ads. Microsoft Ads barely gets a mention. That's not because Microsoft is irrelevant. It's because most UK PPC agencies don't have a Microsoft-certified team and they'd rather sell what they know.
The honest picture: Microsoft Ads runs at roughly 7% of UK desktop search share. That's small but not zero. Where it matters is the audience demographic. Bing skews 35+, leans more affluent, and over-indexes for B2B research time spent on Outlook and MSN. For a consumer fashion brand selling to 18-25-year-olds, Microsoft Ads will probably not earn its keep. For a B2B accountancy firm targeting finance directors, or a high-AOV furniture brand whose buyers are 45+ professionals, Microsoft can deliver CPCs 30 to 40% below Google for the same queries and the same buyers.
The single biggest reason to add Microsoft Ads is LinkedIn Profile Targeting. Microsoft owns LinkedIn, and it's the only paid-search platform that lets you target your Search and Audience Network campaigns by LinkedIn profile data: job title, company name, company size, industry, seniority. That's not a small thing. For B2B accounts where the buyer is a Finance Director at a 200-500-person business, LinkedIn Profile Targeting on Microsoft is the closest paid search gets to LinkedIn Ads precision, at search-intent CPCs rather than LinkedIn's £15-£25 social-feed rates.
Where we'd argue Microsoft isn't worth it: pure-play B2C ecommerce targeting younger demographics, very low-AOV / impulse-purchase categories, and accounts where Google is already capturing all the buyer-intent demand at acceptable CPA (rare, but it happens). The free audit will tell you which group you're in. If Microsoft doesn't fit your audience, we'll say so and run Google-only.
The cross-channel work itself is bundled into one fee structure: one fee covering both platforms. Adding Microsoft to a Google account isn't billed as a separate service; the percentage scales with combined spend, so if Microsoft adds 20% to your total budget, the management fee scales 20%. No double-charging, no platform-specific retainers.
If you'd rather just buy Google Ads management without the Microsoft conversation, our Google Ads service page covers that specifically. Same fee structure, single-platform focus.

Frequently asked questions
What's the difference between PPC and Google Ads?
PPC (pay-per-click) is the discipline: paid advertising where you pay each time someone clicks. Google Ads is the largest single PPC platform, but it's not the only one. Microsoft Ads (Bing, Yahoo, AOL search + the Microsoft Audience Network) is the other major paid-search platform in the UK, with around 7% of desktop search share and a notably older, more B2B-leaning audience. A 'PPC agency' should be able to run both. A 'Google Ads agency' runs only Google.
Do you run Microsoft Ads / Bing Ads?
Yes, as a managed service. Microsoft Ads campaigns (Search, Shopping, Audience Network, LinkedIn Profile Targeting) sit under the same retainer as Google Ads. We typically import the Google account structure as a starting foundation, then optimise it for Microsoft's auction dynamics and audience profile. The two platforms behave differently enough that copy-paste rarely works at the bidding / negative-keyword / audience layer; the import is just a head start.
Should I run Google Ads, Microsoft Ads, or both?
Depends on your audience. For B2C ecommerce targeting under-35 buyers, Google-only is usually right; Microsoft volume is too thin to justify the management overhead. For B2B service businesses targeting professionals 35+, finance, legal, accountancy, IT services, recruitment, high-AOV furniture or home improvement, Microsoft typically adds 15 to 30% incremental qualified pipeline at lower blended CPA. The free audit gives you a specific recommendation for your account rather than a generic answer.
What is LinkedIn Profile Targeting on Microsoft Ads?
Microsoft owns LinkedIn. That ownership lets Microsoft Ads target your Search and Audience Network campaigns by LinkedIn profile data: job title (e.g. Finance Director, IT Manager, Procurement Lead), company name, company size, industry, and seniority. It's the only paid-search platform with this level of B2B targeting precision, and it's the single biggest reason most UK B2B businesses should be running Microsoft Ads. CPCs for these targeted segments are typically £2 to £8 versus LinkedIn Ads' £15-£25 on the social feed, with comparable lead quality.
How much does PPC management cost?
Single retainer covers both Google Ads and Microsoft Ads. No setup fee, no contract lock-in, 30-day notice.
Do you handle conversion tracking on both platforms?
Yes. Google's GA4 + Enhanced Conversions and Microsoft's UET (Universal Event Tracking) are wired in parallel so you can compare like-for-like CPA / ROAS across platforms. CRM offline-import is set up on both sides so the algorithms optimise to sales-qualified leads or closed-won revenue rather than raw form fills. This is included in the retainer.
Do you also do Meta Ads (Facebook and Instagram)?
Yes, separately. Our Facebook Ads service uses the same fee structure as a standalone retainer. PPC (Google + Microsoft) and Meta sit under different retainers because the disciplines, optimisation cadence, and conversion tracking patterns are different enough that bundling them tends to short-change one or the other. Most clients run both as separate engagements with the same team coordinating across them.
How long until I see results?
Initial waste cuts on the Google side (negative keywords, broken match types, feed disapprovals) typically lift performance within 14 to 30 days. Microsoft Ads usually delivers meaningful volume within 30 to 60 days of going live (it takes longer because the impression volume is smaller, so the algorithm has less to learn from per day). Compounding gains across both platforms land over 90 days as conversion data accumulates.
Will Microsoft Ads cannibalise my Google Ads?
Not in any meaningful way. Microsoft's UK audience is largely additive to Google's, not overlapping. The 7% who use Bing as their default search engine on desktop tend not to switch back and forth, they're a distinct user base. There's some overlap on Audience Network placements with Google Display, but it's small and easily filtered with placement exclusions. The two platforms compound rather than cannibalise.
Do you build the creative for the ads?
No, creative production is not included. Most clients already have brand assets. For Microsoft Audience Network and LinkedIn Profile Targeting where creative matters more than plain text Search, you'll need static images and headlines that work without sound. If you don't have a creative partner, we can recommend specialists we trust, and the audit will flag whether your current creative is a bottleneck on performance.
Are there long-term contracts?
No. 30-day notice and we go separate ways. Both ad accounts stay yours, all campaign data, audiences, conversion history, plus the tracking configuration and any landing pages we built. We don't believe in retention through contracts. If the work isn't worth the fee, you should leave.
